Principal and Lead Strategist
Susan Heinzeroth founded SageRiver Consulting to serve as a catalyst for meaningful change in organizations and communities.
As lead strategist for SageRiver, Susan draws on more than 30 years of management consulting and leadership experience. She is known for “connecting the dots” to bring into focus opportunities and openings for strategic change. Clients credit her big-picture thinking and effective facilitation with moving them from analytics to action, from insight to implementation and from truth-telling to transformation.
Throughout her career, Susan has brought an entrepreneurial approach to every engagement. This trait revealed itself early, when she launched a bead-making business at age six and built a sales booth outside her elementary school. Later, she would create a consulting service line for Coopers & Lybrand, re-engineer and drive organizational growth as a partner at Cornerstone Consulting and guide the organizational transformation of a $5.8 billion healthcare agency at the height of healthcare reform.
Susan has brought that same strategic vision and entrepreneurial energy to SageRiver Consulting. Long before virtual firms had a name, for example, she had adopted collaborative technologies and established a national value network of experienced consultants to serve SageRiver clients.
Since Susan founded SageRiver, the firm has provided management consulting services to more than 100 corporate, government and nonprofit clients across the United States. She also mentors emerging leaders as a faculty member of the Institute for Career Advancement Needs and as an adjunct faculty member in the business management schools of the University of Colorado at Boulder, University of Colorado at Denver and Denver University.
