Project: Shaping the Strategic Direction – Vison, Mission, Values, and Strategic Initiatives
Collegiate Insurance Resources (CIR) is a major health insurance provider whose primary target market is Affinity Groups. CIR relies on a business strategy of growth by acquisition. SageRiver utilized the results of an internal and external Environmental Scan to facilitate strategy sessions with CIR’s leadership team shaping their Vison, Mission, Values, and Strategic Initiatives. This initiative improved integration of acquired business units, helping CIR to leverage economies of scale, and updated their use of technology by establishing a robust on-line customer interface.
Project: Integrating Three Organizational Cultures
Collegiate Insurance Resources acquired two insurance companies and retained SageRiver to assist in merging three distinct organizational cultures. SageRiver’s objective was to acclimate the executive staff of the acquired companies to the culture and values of CIR. SageRiver conducted an internal cultural assessment with the staff of CIR and its new acquisitions. A set of cultural commonalities and distinctions among the companies emerged. We were able to bridge the cultural divide with awareness, engagement, change management and communications.
