Cultural Assessment and Change Management

Challenge

Collegiate Insurance Resources (CIR) is a major health insurance provider that achieves growth through acquisitions and expanding market segments and share. The company purchased two insurance companies and retained SageRiver Consulting to assist in establishing a new organizational culture for the combined companies.

Project

SageRiver conducted internal cultural and organizational assessments with the staff of CIR and its new acquisitions. A set of cultural commonalities and distinctions among the companies emerged. Following a RE-vision, mission, values and strategic objectives development process, we were able to bridge the cultural divide among the companies and establish a new culture that fostered alignment, illuminated opportunities for consolidation and highlighted "bright spots" to carry the entire organizations forward.

Results

CIR successfully integrated the two new companies into its operations, which enabled CIR to maximize the return on its investment, enhance employee morale and better serve its customers.
