Strategic Planning and Business Transformation

Challenge

Based in Colorado, the Dental Lifeline Network (DLN) is a national dental nonprofit organization providing access to comprehensive dental care for people with disabilities or who are elderly or medically fragile and have no other way to get help.  The organization retained SageRiver’s services to design and guide a business transformation initiative to help increase the reach and impact of the nonprofit’s work.

Project

Working alongside DLN leaders, SageRiver delivered the following:
  • Launched and guided a strategic planning process
  • Conducted an environmental scan, including key stakeholder interviews, a strategy survey and leadership team facilitation
  • Developed cloud-based strategy monitoring and evaluation tools
  • Coached executive leadership team members
  • Collaborated with DLN leaders to guide the strategic management process over three annual cycles


Results

DLN’s strategic plan provided a clear vision and path to business transformation, allowing the nonprofit to increase its reach and impact. In November 2015, DLN announced it had reached an important milestone, exceeding $300 million in dental services donated to vulnerable populations across the United States.
