After four students from a single school died by suicide in a nine-month period, community leaders established the Second Wind Fund to offer mental health services to at-risk children and youth. Their success in preventing more teen suicides led to calls to expand the program throughout the state and nation. The nonprofit asked SageRiver Consulting to help them develop a vision and plan to grow their reach and impact.
Project
SageRiver conducted market research and an organizational assessment in order to develop a statewide and national strategic affiliate expansion plan.
Results
Second Wind Fund implemented the strategic affiliate expansion plan, and the organization successfully moved into several new geographies. Most importantly, more teenagers are receiving the care they need during vulnerable times in their lives.
